ADRIENNE II
Swan 651
ADRIENNE II is a modified German-Frers-designed Swan 651, lengthened to 70-feet by adding an extended transom, and with a modified fin keel and newer carbon-fiber rig. She also has a Hallberg-Rassy-style glass windshield at the forward part of the cockpit which integrates the canvas dodger into it. 59º North is chartering her from her owner Gurra Krantz, who uses the boat primarly for the filming of the Swedish reality-TV show Över Atlanten. 59º North will be using the boat for one-off trans-Atlantic voyages in 2025.

19 Swan 651’s were built between 1982 and 1991. She was the successor to the all-time classic S&S Swan 65, modernized a bit with more interior volume and designed more for family cruising than ocean racing, as the original 65 was designed for.
59º North’s previous ‘big boat’ ICEBEAR was a smaller sistership to ADRIENNE II. The Swan 59, as ICEBEAR was, was also a Frers design from the same era, and the interior and deck arrangement is much the same, but the 651 obviously has more space above and belowdecks.
