After FALKEN’s first stopover in our adopted homeport in Sweden, we’ll head west towards Scotland for the first leg of the passage south ending this leg in Plymouth, UK. The aim is to get across the North Sea before the fall storms. Expect variable weather and lots of navigational challenges as we traverse the oil rigs and depressions of the North Sea, bound for a spectacular landfall in northern Scotland, before sailing south to Plymouth.

The legendary Biscay crossing is a passage of contrasts. The journey starts in cold, wet and windy UK, before punching upwind through the SW’lies in Biscay. Just when you think you can’t take any more wet, upwind, heeled over sailing, the temps start to get warmer and the wind starts to shift. By the time you hit the coast of Portugal, you’ll be shedding layers and sailing downwind in the sunshine!

Two trips in one, as we start with a 250+ mile downwind sail towards Panama & the famed San Blas Islands, before shifting into inshore mode and transiting the famed Panama Canal and into the Pacific! We have more time scheduled for this passage than is necessary to allow for bureaucratic & logistical delays in the Canal itself. Transiting the Canal and entering a new ocean is a bucket-list adventure for us at 59º North, and adding a little ocean sailing on top is the icing on the cake!
$7,500 | 8 Days & 500 nm | Available (8 berths)
Since it’s so hard to get to the Pacific, we couldn’t resist adding a cruising passage in Tahiti. Another big ocean passage, over 2,000 miles, as we continue north and around the North Pacific High to British Columbia. We’ll aim for Prince Rupert Sound, right on the Canadian border with Alaska. $5,500 | 8 Days & 500 nm | Available (8 berths)
NEW PASSAGE! The return passage to San Diego will be a more technically-focused and educational ‘Sail Training Passages’. We’ll spend more time in-port prior to departure diving deep on the details of seamanship, from weather routing and forecasting to knots, splicing, chart work, systems and more. With consistent breeze off Baja California and a short rhumb-line distance to San Diego, we have plenty of space for all points of sail and in-depth training offshore. Offshore, the passage may be broken up into shorter sails or one longer passage.
